Delete Your Account & Data

This page describes how to permanently delete your SpendWise account and all data associated with it, in line with Google Play's Account Deletion requirements. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

Option 1 — Delete in-app (recommended, immediate)

1. Open SpendWise and sign in to the account you want to delete.

2. Go to Profile (bottom tab bar).

3. Scroll down and tap Delete account.

4. Confirm the deletion. Your account and all associated data are removed from our servers immediately.

Option 2 — Request deletion without the app installed

If you no longer have SpendWise installed, email us from the address associated with your account and we will delete your account and data within 30 days.

Please include the email address your SpendWise account is registered with, so we can locate and verify the correct account before deleting it.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes, from our servers:

Your account (email, authentication credentials)
Your cloud-backed-up expense and budget data
Your onboarding preferences (currency, goals, notification settings) stored server-side
Your subscription/plan status record

Data that lives only on your device (if you're using SpendWise as a guest, with no account) is not affected by this page — uninstalling the app removes that data directly.

What is retained, and for how long

Deletion via the in-app option (Option 1) is immediate — nothing is retained. We do not keep backups of deleted account data beyond what's required by law (we currently have no such legal retention requirement). If you delete your account via email request (Option 2), we complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying your request.
